Super Mario Bros. 3 - Two chests in World 1 fortress

PLEASE READ BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS!!

There are two chests in the World 1 Mini-Fortress in Mario 3. One is in the well-known hidden room containing the well-known whistle, and another is in the middle of a wall. Which wall? The one blocking your way beside the door that leads to Boom-Boom’s room. So what’s in this unused chest? It happens to be another whistle! Yes indeed, the rumors of a fourth whistle in SMB3 are true. But the area this unused whistle is located is probably the last place anyone would think of looking for it.

To find the second chest, you’ll need a Game Genie and code AOSUZI active. Go to the wall beside th door that leads to Boom-Boom’s room in the World 1 Mini-Fortress, and pull out the block on the very bottom of the wall (when it has rised completely). Stand in the hole, and when the wall falls you’ll go right through it unharmed. You’ll stop in the whistle/hidden room. You may have noticed the unused chest appear just before you entered the hidden room. Pull blocks out of the wall to reach the chest. As with all the chests in the game, the game will automatically return to the map screen after you’ve collected the unused whistle.

I personally haven’t been able to collect both. Yeah I know, in this video you see me open both chests but only the unused whistle appeared in my inventory. Perhaps if you’re quick enough, it might be possible to keep both. You’ll notice that while I hoped to get both, I screwed up a little after collecting the unused whistle by jumping over the used whistle and then grabbing it after that. If one was to not screw up at that point like I did, you might be able to keep both.

Well, enjoy!
